Findings from Past Lives

During an intense migratory period towards Europe, specifically Italy, Castrignano de’ Greci hosted a number of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

These objects, found in the building of SPAR (a protection system for asylum seekers and refugees) are among the few objects and memories that migrants brought from their former countries to Castrignano.

Brown leather sandals, sent from Pakistan to Puglia by an Afghan boy’s brother.

Cotton pashmina, the only object carried through a long journey from Pakistan to Castrignano.
